Vicki Hunter's Bio
 
As President of The Hunter Group, she has helped Fortune 500 corporations, including Honeywell, and Lockheed-Martin, resolve regulatory issues pending before various federal and state agencies, including OSHA, EEOC, EPA, and the Department of Labor. She has also advised corporations on preparing responses to government procurement requests, and helped resolve contractual and legal issues arising from government procurements.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Hunter served as the Vice President, Commercial Development and Marketing for Crawford-Strauss, Inc., a leading Dallas based commercial real estate development firm. She also owned and managed a real estate consulting firm. Her firm selected and acquired sites for residential construction; choose architectural designs suited for intended markets; conducted functional and aesthetic planning of condominium/apartment complexes; oversaw onsite construction; directed contractors and subcontractors; designed and executed sales and advertising programs; and hired, trained, and managed staff for sale/lease of developed properties. Her firm developed and sold 3,000 units at nine sites in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area, and 1,600 units at three sites in Southern California.

Ms. Hunter served in various executive level positions and appointments in the Presidential Administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr. This included senior positions at the Departments of Labor (DOL) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and being the Deputy Associate Administrator for Operations and Industry Relations at the General Services Administration (GSA). Her accomplishments included, the government-wide implementation of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, standardizing Davis-Bacon coverage among the states, and the clarification and codification of labor standards for Indian Housing.

Ms. Hunter also designed and directed public events for the White House and Cabinet departments and planned, coordinated, and implemented rallies, and personal appearances, for the President and Vice President, including public events at the White House. During the 1984 campaign, she organized and managed “Democrats for Reagan-Bush”, and coordinated personnel in 50 states. She advised Deputy Campaign Director, Lee Atwater, on special events and logistics, oversaw First Lady, Nancy Reagan’s, public event’s schedule at the National Convention in Houston, and served as main liaison with Celebrities for Reagan, the Secret Service, and local law enforcement.

Ms. Hunter has also acted and advised in a number of major movies and television shows. This included developing communication strategy for Fox News and Fox Cable. She advised Director and Producer, Ron Maxwell, and associate producers, on film locations, and regulatory matters related the filming of “Gods and Generals”. This included negotiating personnel contracts for senior production staff, and serving as principal liaison for production company with federal, state, and local governments to obtain permits and approvals for filming the Civil War epic starring Robert Duval, Jeff Daniels, Mira Sorvino, and Stephen Lang.

Ms. Hunter studied business and management at Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas. She is a leader in the Harpers Ferry community and in Jefferson County. In 1993-94, she served on the organizing committee for the Fiftieth Anniversary of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. She is also on the executive boards of Friends of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Harpers Ferry Main Street, Citizens for Jefferson's Future, the Jex Paintings Foundation, and the Harpers Ferry Women's Club.
