Inter-American Development Bank, Washington, DC, 11/05 – 7/07 ~ Senior Advisor to the Office of the President. 7/02 – 11/05 ~ Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, responsible for assisting the President in overall management of the Bank. Charged with operating oversight of staff of 2000 in Washington headquarters and 28 offices throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Managed relations with Board of Directors representing 47 sovereign shareholders. Chairman of Loan Committee which established new loan processing guidelines and approved financings of $33 billion; Chairman of Planning & Budget Committee which approved budgets of $1.7 billion; Chairman of Oversight Committee on Fraud & Corruption which established a variety of policies and safeguards against fraud and corruption and disposed of more than 400 specific allegations; Chairman of Audit & Evaluation Committee and Member/Acting Chairman of Finance, Pension, Coordination and Programming Committees.
