US Dollar Amount (consultant fees and travel): $26,000,000

Approx. value of improvements made during this period = $170,000,000 [ROI 6.5:1]

  • Automated all procurement, payroll, and financial records.
  • Consolidated administrative operations for 43,000 employees in 46 countries.
  • Reinvented banking services and support operations.
Ranucci directed the analysis of change issues, and designed best practice solutions for the reengineering of the ANZ Bank ($100 billion) in Australia and New Zealand, reducing operating costs by $170 million. They coached the bank’s CEO and Executive Team on leadership and change management.

As Lead Consultants for Change Management at the Australia-New Zealand Bank (ANZ) they oversaw the largest print campaign in Australian history. The ANZ Bank was reinventing itself to better compete on a global scale. It had 43,000 employees in 46 countries. One of their roles was to develop both the internal communications for its employees and external outreach to its customers.

The ANZ Bank was concerned that its customers would not react well to its changes in services, its new online offerings, and its branch consolidation. They worked with Saatchi and Saatchi to design a national campaign themed “Change is good”. It became the largest print campaign in Australian history with ads running in all major daily newspapers and in major magazines. The highly creative and comical “before and after” photo spreads won one of the Australian Ad Council Awards and, more importantly, attracted new customers to the ANZ Bank.
